LIFESTYLE
WHat is the average distance of a load?
Each terminal serves a specific oilfield shale with a typical service radius:
- Houston serves NW Louisiana, GoM (LA), Houston, DFW, East TX, and South TX. 85% of the loads are within 400 miles
- Midland serves SE NM, Midland/Odessa, Permian and Delaware Basins. 85% of the loads are within 170 miles
- Oklahoma City serves Oklahoma, the Permian, the Rockies, and Texas. 85% of the loads are within 600 miles
How about home time?
Because 85% of your loads are under 600 miles (one way), then you can expect to be home and sleep in your own bed every other night (if not more). For Midland, you can expect to be home every night (unless you like to travel further out - OTR)
HOw many loads will i complete per week?
Given the shorter range of our loads, you can expect to do 3 - 8 loads per week, depending on how hard you would like to work.
How are we dispatched?
We employ a First-In, First-Out (FIFO) board rotation. However, to even the irregularities of variety of loads received, we may from time to time, move drivers up or down to even out pay between drivers, assuming all things equal between drivers.
What are the HOURS of Operations?
Oilfield is 24/7, 365, but each business unit is unique. OCTG (Pipe Hauling) is typically load up during business hours and deliver the next day. Hotshot trucking is more on demand and can occur at any time of the day. OCTG and Heavy haul are definitely the more structured and scheduled type of work.
